If you are a school that will be taking a 5 day break (12th – 16th) please let us know as soon as possible and we will arrange to collect your hearts on Friday 9th Feb.

Judging Process

The judging process is carried out by a panel of independent judges. The judging panel for the TLC Valentines competition is:

Criteria

Subject

The subject should relate to TLC in some way, either through recyclable material or your pride in a clean Limerick. As it is a Valentines themed competition, the subject should surround itself around your love for Limerick, TLC etc.

Collection

Your decorated heart will be collected from your school on the deadline date, Monday 12th Feb 2018.

Delivery

Your heart will be delivered on the week commencing Monday 29th January 2018

Use of Materials

You may use a wide range of materials. They must be stuck on very securely as they will be hung when completed. Try to keep recycling/ cutting down of waste in mind when choosing your materials.

Originality

Your work should aim to be original, however this is a group project along with the aid of a teacher, and therefore unoriginal work will not be penalized in any way.  

Number of Entries

The Valentines competition is a class project and you may submit one entry per class group.

Information Required

You should include the following information on the heart:

  • TLC Logo
  • Teacher’s Name, class, title of entry should be filled in on the back of the heart

The following should be filled out on the application form:

  • School name, address, email address, telephone number and teacher’s name.

The Closing Date

The closing date for registration is: Friday 26th January 2018

Delivery of trees to schools: Monday 29th January 2018

Collection of trees: Monday 12th Feb 2018

Display

Hearts will be displayed in The Hunt Museum, Rutland St, Limerick

Terms and Conditions

1. The promoter of this competition is the Team Limerick Clean-Up. The deadline for application entry is Friday 26th of January 2018. All entries will be displayed in a city centre location. The competition may be entered by filling in the appropriate application form which can be found on the competitions section on our website teamlimerickcleanup.ie.

2. Entrants must provide their class, teacher’s name, e-mail address, contact number and any other information as requested in the entry form.

3. Entrants must have hearts completed ready for collection from their school by Monday Morning 12th Feb. If hearts are not ready, they will not be put on display

4. The winners will be chosen by our judging panel from the correct qualifying entries and contacted in early March.

5. The judge’s decision is final.

6. Only one entry per class will be accepted.

7. Entries received after the published closing date will be discarded.

8. The competition is only open to primary schools in Limerick city and county.

9. The Winner will be notified by e-mail or telephone as soon as possible after the applicable competition draw.

10. If, for any reason, a winner cannot be contacted, or fails to reply toTeam Limerick Clean-up within 14 days of notification or fails to meet the eligibility requirements or is otherwise unable to comply with these General Terms and Conditions, thenteam Limerick Clean-Up may declare such a win void (and the offered prize’s will lapse) and select the next best placed entry, a substitute winner in accordance with these terms and conditions.

11. All entries details (Class, age and school) may be used in marketing campaigns such as exhibitions, the teamlimerickcleanup.ie website and on social media. Photographs of the winners together with their names and ages may be used in publicity campaigns.

12. No cash alternatives are available to any prizes.

13. The prizes are not transferable.

14. No purchase is necessary
