PAUL O’CONNELL LAUNCHES TEAM LIMERICK CLEAN-UP4

Team Limerick Clean-Up4 announces “Loving Limerick” Valentines competition

The hugely successful Team Limerick Clean-up (TLC) is set to take place for the fourth consecutive year this Good Friday 30th March 2018 and registration is now open on www.teamlimerickcleanup.ie. To celebrate TLC4, Primary Schools from across Limerick have been invited to take part in an exciting Valentines competition. Paul O’Connell was joined today by the Mayor of Limerick, Stephen Keary and pupils from Scoil Iosaf Girls’ NS at The Red Door Gallery, Newcastle West to launch the Team Limerick Clean-up4 and ‘Loving Limerick’ competition.

Primary School classes are being asked to design and decorate a big love heart to celebrate their love for Limerick and TLC. The competition is an enjoyable way to promote greater awareness of TLC4 amongst young students and all love hearts will be on display at The Hunt Museum in Limerick city over Valentines week.

The competition is divided into three different categories: Category A: Junior Infants to First Class; Category B: Second to Fourth Class and Category C: Fifth and Sixth classes. The winning schools will receive vouchers for school equipment. Full details of the competition can be found on the TLC website.

Commenting on TLC4 and the competition, Paul O’Connell said; “We’re pleased to announce that registration for TLC4 is now open! TLC3 was Europe’s largest ever one-day clean-up with over 16,500 people taking to the streets of Limerick and we intend to continue this growth for TLC4. Volunteers can keep up to date with details of TLC4 on our website and social media pages.”

He added; “The Valentines competition is a fun, innovative way to further educate young kids on the importance of keeping their communities clean all year round. We have received really positive feedback so far and it looks like over 200 love hearts will be on display in The Hunt Museum this Valentines!”

Team Limerick Clean-Up4 (TLC4), is an initiative sponsored by the JP McManus Benevolent Fund, and supported by Limerick City and County Council. Endorsed by Paul O’Connell, the official partners include Mr Binman, The Limerick Leader and Limerick Live 95FM.
