Team Limerick Clean-Up ‘Decorate a BIG TLC Christmas Tree’ Competition Winners Announced

The winners of Team Limerick Clean-Up’s ‘Decorate a BIG TLC Christmas Tree’ Competition were announced at a special awards ceremony on Friday 28^th November in the Crescent Shopping Centre.

All winning teachers and classes were invited to meet TLC co-founders JP McManus and Helen O’Donnell and Limerick Senior Hurling Manager John Kiely.

Team Limerick Clean-Up celebrates 10 years this year and was delighted to partner with the Crescent Shopping Centre for this festive Christmas campaign.

Over 170 Christmas trees across 59 primary schools were collected as part of the competition and all trees will be on display in the Crescent Shopping Centre for the month of December.

Primary school pupils across Limerick City and County were encouraged to put their creative skills and imaginations to the test by decorating a large Christmas tree with recycled and recyclable materials. The aim of the competition was to encourage children to learn more about the importance of recycling, sustainability and teamwork.

The competition had four categories:

1. Junior Competition (Junior and Senior infants) 
2. Intermediate Competition (1^{st to} 4^th class) 
3. Senior Competition (5^th and 6^th class) 
4. Additional Education Needs Competition (all age groups) 

Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s competition. Your Christmas trees will be on display for the month of December in the Crescent Shopping Centre to be admired by the public!
